IPSec and WAN Optimization for backup data

So here is the situation.  We have a IPSec tunnel between to locations.  The only traffic traversing this tunnel is veeam backup copy jobs from location A to B.  My question is, would implementing WAN Optimization on this tunnel provide any benefit?  After reviewing the documentation, I do not believe so, however I am wondering if I am missing something.  Does anyone have a similar setup that sees a performance benefit with WAN Optimization for this type of traffic?
