Application Control relies on FortiGuard application signatures to identify application traffic, so a change in detection does not necessarily mean that the ChatGPT application signature has changed.

One area worth checking is whether the FortiGate has the latest Application Control signature database and whether the affected sessions are being inspected as expected. You may also want to review the Application Control logs to see how the ChatGPT traffic is currently identified.
