Fortiweb - True transparent proxy mode

Hello,

Its a bit confusing to understand what is the exact difference in transparent inspection and true transparent proxy mode.

Can anyone explain me with an example, what does the below statement mean ?

Transparent Inspection—FortiWeb asynchronously inspects traffic arriving on a network port that belongs to a Layer 2 bridge, applies the first applicable policy, and lets permitted traffic pass through. (Because it is asynchronous, it minimizes latency.)
