Static Routes Not Working

Hi Everyone I have a Fortigate 200B (v4MR2P8). I have two internet circuits(VZ ethernet/VZ Fios). I had previously set up several static routes to send certain traffic over the VZ Fios circuit. The other day, that circuit went down so I deleted all the static routes so all traffic could go out the VZ Ethernet circuit. The VZ Fios circuit is back up(can ping the next hop router). I tried adding a single static route and sending that traffic over the VZ Fios. It is not working. It is in the router table after I create it but it is not found under ' monitor' . A traceroute shows that this traffic is still going out the VZ Ethernet circuit. Any ideas? I tried to do a PBR......same thing. Jay

Please make sure your static router device setting is correct (The port was connected to VZ Fios). Please make sure the VZ Fios link is up. If there is nothing wrong, you may need to reboot Fortigate 200B.

The routing decision is made at the time when the first packet arrives. If your sessions are alive long enough then they won' t be renegotiated when new routes are added. You can either kill the sessions, or (quite brute force) reboot the FGT.

Have you tried pulling the the plug on the Ethernet circuit to fail back to FIOS? Or maybe bouncing the policies for the Ethernet?

If there are two equal cost static routing entry, it is better to either enable ping server, or set priority to control the order of traffic outgoing. Otherwise it is difficult to predict the traffic.
