Technical Tip: Compatibility Matrix guide between FortiGate and other Fortinet products

Description

This article describes the process for determining compatibility between FortiGate (FortiOS) and other Fortinet Products.

Scope

FortiOS.

Solution

  1. FortiManager with FortiGate (FortiOS): Compatibility Tool.

  2. FortiAnalyzer with FortiGate (FortiOS): Compatibility Tool.
                       

  3. FortiSwitch with FortiGate (FortiOS): Compatibility Matrix.

  4. FortiAuthenticator with FortiGate (FortiOS). Refer to the release notes of the FortiAuthenticator release. For example, for FortiAuthenticator v6.6.2, refer to FortiOS support.

  5. FortiAuthenticator Agent compatibility. Refer to this document for FortiAuthenticator agent for Windows Agent and OWA compatibility with FortiAuthenticator: Compatibility Matrix.

  6. FortiAP with FortiGate (FortiOS): Compatibility Matrix.

  1. FortiExtender with FortiGate (FortiOS): FortiOS and FortiExtender OS Compatibility Matrices.

    b. FortiClient (Windows) with FortiGate (FortiOS): FortiClient Product Integration and Support.
    Note: FortiClient Linux, MAC, Android & iOS compatibility with FortiGate OS can be found in the same section of their respective release notes.
     

  3. FSSO Agent with FortiGate (FortiOS): Product integration and support.

 

Select the FortiGate firmware version to view the corresponding minimum required FSSO Agent version.

To find the recommended version at the time of the release, navigate to FortiOS Release Notes -> Upgrade Information -> Fortinet Security Fabric.

 

For example:

When comparing two products, refer to the release notes of the product with the latest version, since that information will be more up-to-date.
