Can we get the real bandwidth for each traffic shaper using SNMP? What oid can be used?

Hi,

To obtain the real bandwidth for each traffic shaper using SNMP, FortiGate does not provide specific SNMP OIDs for bandwidth directly.

However, you can calculate the bandwidth by using the SNMP OIDs for the number of bytes received/sent on an interface:

  1. ifInOctets: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10
  2. ifOutOctets: 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.16 To calculate the bandwidth:
  • Query the byte count at two different times.
  • Subtract the initial byte count from the later byte count. - Multiply the result by 8 to convert bytes to bits.
  • Divide by the time interval in seconds to get the bandwidth in bits per second (bps). For traffic shaping statistics, you can refer to SNMP OIDs related to traffic shaping, but specific OIDs for real-time bandwidth per shaper are not provided.
Best Regards

Hi..

yes i can query from interface side but this is not what i ask.

I asked to query for each traffic shapper, so i can know consume badnwidth for sales, bod, IT etc because I will make the traffic shaper based on the department.
