Question

recommended console emulator

I was looking through the IPAM settings and saved a change accidentally.  I lost network access to my 60F as a result.  Windows Terminal isn’t working on my pc.  I’m looking for a software recommendation to access the 60F from the console port and any advice on how to turn off IPAM from the command line.  I’ve only used the GUI so far.

Thank you in advance !!

havent worked with ipam feature until now, but i think you can disable it with these commands,

    config system ipam

    set status disable

    end

software for console port to access the FortiGate, Teraterm or even Putty should work.

    Hi elittos,

For the console connection, PuTTY or Tera Term can be used. Fortinet's current FortiOS 8.0 documentation provides the console connection procedure:

FortiOS 8.0 — Connecting to the CLI (Console)

Regarding IPAM, FortiOS allows IPAM to be disabled at the FortiGate/interface level. The relevant configuration is documented here:

FortiOS 8.0 — Configure IPAM locally on the FortiGate

Once you regain console access, you can verify the IPAM and interface configuration before making further changes.

Hope this helps you get the 60F back under management.
