My unit is fortigate 60, may I use it to control the LAN printer(a static IP with printer server adapter), i.e. print time, etc. Thanks in advance.

    If you' re talking about firewalling, yes, of course any Fortigate will support printing through the firewall. You have to open the right ports in initiating in the right direction. LPD protocol usually runs on port 515/tcp if I recall. The raw printing that many newer JetDirect devices (and others) use is 9100/tcp. But the question is sort of fuzzy so it' s hard to know what you' re asking. -Jim

    Thanks. I mean that the printer works on a specified time, and not work on a specified time. How to setup this?

    if you' ve configured the proper policy involving printer, you could establish schedules for this policy look at Firewall->schedule, you can define one shot or recurring schedules to apply to the relevant firewall policy
