Headless Linux installation

I am trying to configure forticlient on a Linux server that does not have a GUI. I ask Fortinet support for help but they said they cannot assist me because the documentation states that a GUI is required. Can anybody help me configure (by editing config/xml files)  the linux client in order to make it connect to EMS and retrieve its profile?
