google.com categorized as Proxy Avoidance.

Hi guys, I'm testing FortiOS 5.4.1, great OS and as expected, buggy.

 

When I open google.com website, web filter is blocking with Proxy Avoidance category:

 

Category 59

Category Description Proxy Avoidance

Threat Level high

Direction outgoing

Event Type ftgd_blk

Hostname google.com

Metho dip

Message URL belongs to a denied category in policy

Profile Name WF

Request Type direct

URL google.com/

 

On same Fortigate I did try to make a Web Rating Override to "correct" this, but rating to google.com is:

 

FortiGuard Rating

Category: General Interest - Business Sub-Category: Search Engines and Portals   How to correct this mess???   Thank you and sorry any language mistake.

    Hi Carlos,

     

    That sounds more like their URL category is wrong, which is (I think) just an incorrect entry in their database.

     

    You can report the category as incorrect from FortiGate's WEb GUI:

      System > FortiGuard

        > "Filtering Services Availability" section

          > "Request re-evaluation of a URL's category"

     

    Haven't tried reporting any off category myself, so would be interested to hear if that works for you, and how quick the response is.

    Thank you tanr, but google.com category is correct, the incorrect issue was at web filter security profile.

     

    But, miraculously, all things get in shape now. I did an "unselect and select" web filter profile on policy and did resolve the problem. It's a bug, I guess.
