FSSO not functioning

my fsso is no longer polling data and "the fsso daemon is offline"

I had a connection, but it somehow dropped. I have a list of the users in the DC that is current (at least) through the 19th based upon a user created that day which is visible to me through the Fortigate.

I am trying to setup authentication for a proxy through FSSO and i cannot figure out how to it to request the login. I can select a user from the list when setting up the proxy, but it doesn't matter to the policy.
