Question

fortigate 60E support

Greetings, might be the wrong place to ask...

I am supporting a customer that has a FortiGate 60E. They need a firewall for their current environment, and upgrade to a new internet provider. We will probably get a new firewall within the next year.

I want to know what I need to do to get this device upgraded and supported to assist them. I have found that this device will go end of support in Dec 2026. How would I find out how much it would cost to get the device updated and supported for the rest of the life of the device. From what I am seeing, to true-up support is going to cost more than a new device. Does anyone know a way to get this device updated and supported for a year? I have reached out to sales, but they have been slow to respond.

I'd say as long as it hasn't reached LSED (Last Service Extension Date) you could still buy a forticare license and you will get support as long as that is valid.

Thus you might not get firmware updates anymore once Fortinet choses not to build anymore firmware for this device.

Thanks. But this device was last “in support” in 2017, but what I have seen is that the 60e, if it falls out of support, cannot be renewed after 2021… I guess I’ll need to contact sales…
