Forti-gate VM performance

Hi, 

 

We are looking at the fortigate VM firewall but little confused about the information in the datasheet. We are having a ESXi environment. The datasheet mentions the VM can provide 4 Gbps throughput but which VM series will deliver 4 Gbps. I mean would we require the VM08, VM04 etc. There is no mention about that on the datasheet. 

 

Can someone please provide clarity of the same. Would be helpful.

    Hi Sebastion, Sorry that you've been waiting for an answer for so long.  Have you seen this document that describes the different performance numbers for the different VM models?  https://www.fortinet.com/content/dam/fortinet/assets/data-sheets/FortiGate_VM.pdf

    It describes how the performance of the VM models based on different traffic flows and inspection types.  Hopefully it will answer your questions.
