Error -8

What does the error -8 mean?

The full error message is:

Unable to establish the VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable.[-8]

This error happens when there is either:

an incorrect configuration setting in the FortiClient desktop app
a network device (home router or ISP) blocking the configuration.Also, please check if SSL VPN configuration on the fortigate firewall has the "Host Check" option enabled. (SSL VPN Portals -> Tunnel Mode -> Host Check)
