Drive Mapping

I am connected to the server via VPN, Foticlinet reflects connected.  I attempt to map a drive \\NT-FS1\Shared (server\shared name) I get an error cannot connect.  I can ping the server with the associated IP, can ping using the server name. but cannot map a drive.
