on a fortiswitch with Firmware v7.2.4.

How to ensure that traffic between port 01 (SW1) and port 02 (SW2) is tagged with the correct VLAN IDs and is not set to VLAN 1 by default. Should I change the native VLAN on each port?

Hi cbloom
We have a article for that: https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiNAC/Technical-Note-Best-practice-for-manually-changing-VLANs-on/ta-p/191473

If the switches are connected to fortigate you can do from FGT GUI.

Hello @cbloom ,

When you open the box, FortiSwitch comes with native vlan as 1.

If you use FortiSwitch on standalone mode, you can review this document about cli commands. And you can check with these command native vlan settings.

https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortiswitch/7.4.3/fortiswitchos-administration-guide/146335/configuring-vlans
