Hi,

We have a FortiWLC 50D and it is sitting behing a Fortigate. One of our clients wants to install Fortinet access points at their site. We want to connect those access points to the wireless controller we have i.e. FortiWLC 50D.

I want to use public IP for access points and controller communication. I am doing some testing. What I have done so far is to create a virtual IP and forward ports 5246 and 5247 to the controller. I can see the access point in the controller and the Availability State comes online but it goes to offline/disabled state after a while. The operational state always remain disabled.

On the controller, I can see the access point's public IP.  Can some one please help me with this one please.

Regards,

Fida

    Hi Fida

Despite the use of CAPWAP, in addition the thoose ports, you also need to allow UDP port 5000 between your WLC and AP's. so maybe worth testing this.
