Hello Fortinet Community Users!

As you have seen in recent banner updates, we are in the process of upgrading the Fortinet Community. Our long-term goal with this change is to provide a foundation for a more modern user experience that scales with all of us as we grow the Fortinet Community together.

Phase 1 Starting the Week of April 13th

Phase 1 migrates all the great Community content you have been a part of creating over the past 10 years. Future releases will add personalization, more localization options, and additional functionality to make it easier to create and consume content.

Key dates and what to expect

  • Read‑only window: The current Community will be read‑only starting the week of April 13 and will remain read‑only for ~6–7 days before the new site launches. We apologize in advance for this unavoidable part of this project.
  • 2‑hour production test: We will switch to the new Community for 2 hours on April 16th from 10:00 AM PST to Noon PST. The new site will function normally, but you may notice testing activity. We will switch back to the current community in read-only mode after the test.
  • Expected Go Live: We expect to go live on April 21st at 10:00 AM PST.

What isn’t changing in the Community

  • Our goal is to minimize the number of changes in this release - Especially as it relates to finding the core components of the site that you rely on day in and day out.
  • Core navigation elements have been placed in the same areas they are today so you can always get to what you need.
  • All the content you depend on is making its way over with the Forum Posts, Knowledge Base content, Group Pages and Blogs being made available as they are today.
  • Your Profile, Username, User Icon, Badges and Login information will remain the same. There are some instances where a username may be changed slightly based on what characters are supported in the new system. More details on that below.

What is changing

While we are working hard to keep things as close to what you are used to in today’s Community, there always some things that will be different with this type of project. These are some of the areas we wanted to highlight.

  • Content Subscriptions will not be migrated. You will need to pick your subscriptions from the new content areas by clicking on the Subscribe buttons you see on the site as needed.
  • Usernames may be changed dependent on factors such as special characters, minimum character requirements, etc. A new username that supports the format will be created for you automatically if this is the case. You may request a username change after we go live on April 21. More details to come.
  • Private Messages will not be migrated. Unfortunately we are unable to move messages from one platform to the other.
  • The Badge System is being redeveloped based on the new platform. While your current badges are migrated, the path to achievement is being reworked. More details coming in future updates.
  • Profile Pages have different options than the current platform. We are migrating as many of the existing elements as possible but you will notice some differences.
  • Group Pages will be slightly different at go live. While all the pages and members will be migrated, some of the custom content will be reworked into Pinned Posts at the top of the groups for the near future
  • Ideas will not be available in the new tool. This was an area that did not get used often in previous years. We will consider reintroducing it in a future release.
  • Suggest New Articles feature will not be available at go live but we are looking at new ideas for collecting these suggestions in the future.

Where to go for questions and updates

Updated: Head over to the new Fortinet Community Experience group to get the latest news after go live. We have a dedicated thread for reporting any issues you may experience.

If you are an unregistered Community member and experience an issue when we go live, please provide your information in this form and we will get back to you.

If you read this far…Thank you all for working with us and making this Community a vibrant and supportive platform for helping each other. There is no Community without you.
