Scope

FortiClient Software installed on a Windows Machine.

Solution

1. Uninstall the existing FortiClient Software first using the conventional method.
   
   
2. If still having issues, utilize the FortiClient remover tool to perform a clean uninstall of the software.
   
   Follow the steps in the linked article to remove the FortiClient Software from the Windows End-point. Reboot the Windows Machine after the Uninstallation process is completed.
   
   
3. Install the latest version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
   
   
4. Uninstall any old C++ Redistributable found in Control Panel (eg: 2008, 2013). After removal, restart the windows machine.
   
   
5. Reinstall the Intended FortiClient Version and run the application as an administrator.
