Description

This article describes how to change the debug duration, which is 30 minutes by default.

Scope

FortiGate.

Solution

1. To check the current debug duration.
   

diagnose debug duration

The current duration is 30 minutes, the timer has not started yet.

2. To change the debug duration.

diagnose debug duration ?

<Integer>                            <----- Duration in minutes, min = 1, max = 99999, 0 means unlimited.

diagnose debug duration 180

The current duration is set to 180 minutes.

diagnose debug duration

The current duration is 180 minutes, 0 minutes, and 21 seconds have passed.

3. To set an unlimited debug duration.

diagnose debug duration 0

The current duration is set to unlimited.

diagnose debug duration

The current duration is unlimited.

4. To disable the debug at any moment.
   

diagnose debug disable

Note:
After a reboot, the debug duration will be reset to the default value (30 minutes) or by executing the command diagnose debug reset.
