Description

This article describes how to resolve a situation where, when adding an 8th SSID to the RADIUS server, the following error occurs:

Scope

FortiGate v7.2 and above.

Solution

As per the FortiAPs datasheet we can add up to 8 SSIDs per client serving radio and 7 SSIDs if background scanning is enabled.

To add 8 SSIDs keep:

Under FortiGate GUI -> Wi-Fi & Switch Controller -> SSID -> Advanced Settings, disable 802.11v assisted roaming and 802.11k assisted roaming.

 

Reason: Enabling 802.11v and 802.11k will enable background scanning on the ForitAP unit.
