Troubleshooting Tip: Resolving remote backup configuration save errors

Description

This article describes the steps to resolve issues when saving remote backup configurations. The user may encounter an error message when attempting to save the configuration. The error contains the message 'There was a problem with the request/data provided.'

Solution

When the user attempts to save the configuration, the following error is observed:

To resolve the issue, follow these steps:

  1. Go to System -> Settings -> System Management -> Remote backup configuration.

  2. Remove the domain name from the server field so it only includes the username and IP address. This field must be entered in the format user@remote-server. For example, it can be noted as johnsmith@10.1.1.1.

  3. Select Save to save the changes.

 

By following these steps, the error message should be resolved, allowing the remote backup configuration to be saved successfully.
