Does this enforced automatic update behavior also impact FortiGate's that only use FortiGate Cloud for Logging and how does it behave if central management is turned off:
The Firmware Upgrade schedule requires a management tunnel connection. If the central management is off, the default firmware profile will be assigned but no upgrade can be scheduled.
What firmware version does this enforcement apply to and does it only apply to the latest available v7.6
FortiOS version convention is v<major>.<minor>.<patch>, for instance, v7.2.9 has major version 7, minor version 2, and patch version 9. The ‘latest-patch’ firmware profile will upgrade the firmware to its latest mature patch version available.
What if the device requires an upgrade path, does it follow the recommended upgrade path :
It will follow the FortiGuard upgrade path. Related document Upgrade Path Tool Table can be used to verify the recommended upgrade path.
Does it automatically backup the configuration file:
It will automatically back up the device’s configuration.
