This article describes how to interpret the speed and duplex on the data interfaces of the FortiGate VMX.

Solution
Customers can notice that the data interfaces o the Fortigate VMX have speed and duplex 10full.
While the actually connection speed over these interfaces are noticeable higher than 10 Mbit.
The Sata interfaces are virtual interfaces, therefore the speed/duplex definition of a regular physical interface is not applicable to the virtual interfaces.
The actual speed of the virtual data interfaces depends on the physical layer and parameters of the Hypervisor.
