Technical Tip: Using host regex proxy address in firewall proxy policy
Description
This article explains the behavior of FortiGate when the feature Host-Regex is used in Proxy Address.
Solution
1) If a hostname is used in Host Regex Proxy Address, the page will be loaded successfully if it matches the pattern and the action of the firewall policy is accept.
Scenario 1:
2) If an IP address or range of IP addresses is used in Host Regex Proxy Address, it will not be possible to access the resources, instead firewall address should be used for this purpose.
