Introduction to the FortiGate Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) modules.

Components

FortiOS v3.0 MR5 or higher and the following hardware:

  • FortiGate-5001A-DW
  • FortiGate-5001A-SW
  • FortiGate-3016B
  • FortiGate-3600A
  • FortiGate-3810A
  • FortiGate-620B
  • FortiGate-310B
  • FortiGate-ADM-XB2
  • FortiGate-ADM-FB8
  • FortiGate-ASM-FB4
  • FortiGate-ASM-S08
Steps or Commands

FortiGate AMC modules enable you to expand your FortiGate unit and network environment. These modules enable you to:

  • Improve small packet performance though optical or copper transceivers (ADM-XB2, ADM-FB8, and ASM-FB4 modules).
  • Connect to 1 gigabit networks using SFP connectors (ADM-FB8 and ASM-FB4 modules).
  • Connect to 10 gigabit networks using XFP connectors (ADM-XB2 module).
  • Quarantine files and store log information on a hard disk module (ASM-S08 module).

Modules are available in single-width and double-width components. FortiGate models 5001A-SW 3016B, 3600A, 602B, and 310B include single-width openings. The FortiGate-5001A-DW includes a double-width opening and the 3810A includes single-width and double-width openings.
