Cannot View Dashboard

Hi All, When I log on to the admin console via https I do not see the dashboard. Is there any way I can get this available again by using the cmd line? I have tried following the configuration below but when I get to the line ' edit 2' which is the 7th line down I get an error ' Command fail. Return code -361' http://kb.fortinet.com/kb/microsites/microsite.do?cmd=displayKC&externalId=FD33178 Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, JP

Some firmware versions had this problem. Which one are you running? An upgrade may be your best course of action. Also, have you tried alternative browsers?

Hi Bob, Thanks for the reply. Are current Firmware is FG310B-4.00build441. I noticed that there was a change in configuration since the dashboard disappeared. but when I try to enter the config below I get an error code 361. config global config system admin edit " usergroup" set vdom " root" config dashboard-tabs edit 1 command fail. Return code -361 any ideas?

You' re still running the first release of MR3. That was some of the buggiest stuff ever known to man! I would schedule some down time, reboot, make a backup before you lose the GUI again, then UPGRADE! I doubt anyone here would disagree. As far as getting into the unit now without a reboot, your chances are very slim.

Thanks Bob, Just out of interest, can you tell me when the MR3 was first released and is there any link to a list of firmware releases for the 310B? I would like to know how far behind we are in terms of updates. Thanks, JP

If you look at the dashboard, I believe next to the firmware version, the date released (or created) is shown. As far as a list goes, the best I could do for you is this link:http://support.fortinet.com/forum/tm.asp?m=86591&p=1&tmode=1&smode=1

4.3.0 (4.0 MR3, build 441) was released 3/18/2011 we are at version 4.3.9 (4.0 MR3 patch 9, build 637) which was released 8/21/2012. You can upgrade directly to patch 9 from your build according to the release notes. 4.3.8 and above have been very stable for me so I' m upgrading all my production units to 4.3.9. 5.0 is just around the corner too so you have this whole process to look forward to again. :)

Try this from a command window: diag sys dashboard reset then log out and log back on.
