Ok this sucks... Summary on the New 60D 5.0.2 = No hard drive but 2GB memory 5.0.1 = 11GB hard drive but 1GB memory.
5.0.3 = PERFECT... (or let' s hope) I was about to buy a 60D but now might hold off. I don' t want to scare a new customer away from Fortinet based on the 60D split personality disorder.

I just looked on the PDF and webpage of the 60D. They have removed everything regarding the internal disk So we probably won´t see any disk in 5.0.3 either.......

It is not only the 60D. If you look at the updated product matrix (http://www.fortinet.com/sites/default/files/basicfiles/ProductMatrix.pdf). The first unit with local storage is the 80C.

5.0.1 (build 4108)

So the 5.0.1 (build 4108) for 60D is the latest version that we can see the local hard disk.

I don' t really understand.. v5.0.2 f/w... why does the disk logging/cache function be removed for 60D unit?? just because of the FortiCloud?? so how do I use the 16GB internal flash storage for v5.0.2 f/w?? fortiguard service(AV/IPS, etc..) database??? fortinet, are you kidding???

I must say, after 7-8 years of being a lojal customer, the latest decisions regarding hiding functions in CLI and call it " easier" for administrators and now this, a brand new model with internal disk, suddenly removed because of some incompetant idiots cant design hardware or incompetant programmers who dont know how to solve some issues. Firmwares so buggy that they should not been released at all, dont get me started on the FortiAnalyzer, catastrophic ! The quality of your products both hardware and software is getting worse. STEP UP!!! (yes Im fucking angry now)

My guess is that local storage has been removed from the product matrix because it has been disabled by default in 5.0.2. it can be re-enabled, at least for the moment. Forticloud is a good idea and it' s getting better all the time but it has one big problem. At least currently. In the meetings i' ve had, pretty much everyone is sceptical about letting their FW logs sit on servers in (what looks to be) Canada.

simonorch mentions " that local storage has been removed from the product matrix because it has been disabled by default in 5.0.2. it can be re-enabled" how does one re-enable it on the FG60D with 5.0.2 ? hidden CLI commands?

forticloud is a optional cost.. the 200Gb contract is too expensive for me.................

I am very troubled by the recent trend of removing local storage. It seemed to be " ok" until Forticloud appeared and now we' re told, directly or indirectly, that we must store everything with Fortinet' s cloud offering. There are reasons to keep logs locally and Fortinet should continue to facilitate that. I suppose we' re back to the days of the older models where there was no local storage. It' s just frustrating since we know (at least presently) the local storage is actually present but hidden.
