FortiNac and Enterasys B5 Switch configuration

Hello everyone;
There is an Enterasys B5G 48P switch in our institution. We ordered FortiNAC. Has anyone configured it with B5 before without any problems? I couldn't find a detailed solution in the documentation.

FortiNAC has a different approach to device integrations when compared to other vendors.

It does not start with RADIUS. It needs first SNMP and CLI integration since those are the primary protocols/methods to establish visibility and used in the underlying FortiNAC logic.

You can then of course use RADIUS to apply control and to learn hosts in enforced locations.

Hello @hiclsr ,

just checked internally in supported models and i see the Enterasys B5G124-48 and Enterasys B5G124-24 as supported.

You should have no problems with it. If you do then we are here to help :)

Regarding specific documentation to this model i see none listed in our guides.

However FortiNAC supports Port/host based CLI configurations for Enterasys

https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortinac-f/7.4.0/administration-guide/188789/port-based-and-host-...

So you can either use CLI or RADIUS to perform VLAN changes.

To add the device with SNMP/CLI and methods to learn endpoints check the steps in section "Stage 3. Establish Visibility." in this article: https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiNAC/Technical-Tip-Comprehensive-guide-for-a-simple-FortiNAC/t...

Hello @hiclsr

As Sx11 explained, Enterasys B5G124-48 model is supported there is no guide for integrating this device with FortiNAC, but it is quite general integration using SNM/CLI.
The first point is that FortiNAC needs to have control of the device.
To achieve that, you need to add the device to the FortiNAC inventory using SNMP with RW privileges and CLI user with administrative privileges.

Once the device is integrated successfully, and you can successfully validate device credentials, Fortinac can control the device and take action on it.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hello, we have just started the Fortinac installation for the Enterasys B5G124-48P2 model, but we can't say we've been very successful. We need your knowledge and support.

Firmware version: 06.81.07.004
PoE: 2_1

Would it be possible for you to provide a draft configuration file for the NAC configuration?
1- SNMP
2- Username, passwords, and protocols
3- TRAPS

Thank you very much in advance for your support.

You need to start with Model configuration, at least SNMP and SSH or Telnet need to be configured in the switch and FNAC. Credentials should be validated in order to add this device in the Network Inventory. To configure this part on the switch is better to read the switch documentation. From FNAC it should appear like:
