I have got an answer from one of our engineers.
Before to help you, we need more information about your set up:
- Is this a free FortiClient VPN or licensed FortiClient?
- What was the previous version before he upgraded the FortiClient to 7.0.7?
- How was the upgrade deployed? SCCM, InTunes?
- What account type was used when running the installer?
I would strongly suggest raising a support ticket if it is a licensed FortiClient so that we can troubleshoot further on this.
The UAC restrictions were there since version 6.2. Please, can you verify that the admin account type used for FortiClient deployment/upgrade has administration privileges as it involves creating registry keys in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE?
