Several MacOS users experiencing lags in Teams after FortiClient update even when not connected
Several of my teammates using MacOS when they are working from home are experiencing lags in Teams (but not in other programs or on speedtest) since they updated FortiClient a month or so ago. They did not have these issues before the update. A couple of them come to the office hybrid and do not have the issue on the corporate network. At home all users have the issue whether the VPN is connected or not. Any ideas?

Hello again lmbmi,
Can you tell me if this helps, please?
To address the lag issues in Microsoft Teams after a FortiClient update on macOS, follow these steps:
- Check for Known Issues: Review the known issues for FortiClient (macOS) 7.4.0 to see if there are any related to performance or application conflicts.
- Disable IPv6: Sometimes, disabling IPv6 can improve performance. Follow these steps:
- Go to the Apple icon -> System Preferences -> Network.
- Select the active network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
- Click on the Advanced button, then the TCP/IP tab.
- Set Configure IPv6 to Off.
- Click OK and restart the Mac. - Check Application Firewall: Ensure that the Application Firewall is not affecting network performance. Known issues indicate it can decrease internet speed when connecting to an IPsec VPN.
- Uninstall and Reinstall FortiClient: If the issue persists, consider uninstalling FortiClient completely and reinstalling it. Use the guide: Technical Tip: How to uninstall FortiClient on macOS.
- Revert to an Older Version: If compatibility issues with macOS are suspected, try using an older version of FortiClient. Refer to: Technical Tip: How to download different or old versions of FortiClient.
- Contact Support: If none of the above solutions work, contact Fortinet Customer Service & Support for further assistance.
