FortiAPs disabled and not able to authorize

FortiAPs disabled and not able to authorize

Hi, I have a Fortigate 100D (Firmware Version v5.4.1,build1064 (GA)), and 4 pieces AP FAP221C-E. Everything was working right up until a day. Currently only two AP are working, and two are greyed out (can not activate them).

I did not change my settings, but I checked them again, and everything looks okay to me. I did deauthorize and authorize again, but nothing happened. I've uploaded the print screen photo of settings, and there are links:

Any suggestions how to solve it?

Thanks In Advance

Generally, you should check that FortiOS and FAP-OS versions are compatible. That is documented in the FortiOS Release Notes.

Then, try to upgrade to the latest v5.4 release. The v5.4 branch is stable so no reason to stay at the (then still quite buggy) 5.4.1 release. In the meantime, many bugs have been fixed.

About the non-manageable APs: I once had the same, inexplicable, situation with 2 FAPs I received for testing. One was behaving normally, one was greyed out. No matter what I did.

Finally, it turned out that the second FAP had been registered with FortiCloud management. There is no easy way out of this other than opening a support call with Service&Support and having it de-registered. After a couple of days, I was able to configure that FAP.
