[ it doesn't appear I can reply to my own post so I'll top-post an update ]
It seems the server end had the timeout setting at 300s. This doesn't quite jive with what I was seeing (a running top command) would disconnect but at least it's one variable that has been changed (to 24h). We'll see!

Hi,
I'm currently running FortiClient 5.2.2.0624 on Windows 7/32-bit. It's a VM which does very little but run VPN software from different clients. I run only one VPN client at a time. The Windows Firewall is disabled.
What I'm seeing are random disconnects. It's a bit frustrating because at times my connection may only last a few minutes yet other times, several hours.
I ran the VPN client in Debug mode and I'm attaching the file. I sanitized the log file and replaced the destination host name with myvpn.example.com
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

You can run 'diag debug app sslvpn 255' on FortiGate at the same time.
How about your VM host? Is it hyper-v, vmware, or kvm? How is your network configured?
