Concerns with enabling PMF for FortiAP?

Anybody enabled PMF for FortiAPs to protect 802.11ac management frames recently, on FortiAPs at 6.0.5 or above?

I'm considering trying this again, maybe with OKC, but have had clients (mainly older Apple devices and HVAC controllers) fail in the past when this is enabled, even if it is set to optional.
