if fortimanager with the work

We have about 10 sites, each with a fortigate. VPN connections back to main hub. Starting to add fortiswitches.

Trying to config and use fortimanage. But it seems things i can do in a second on a fortigate takes minutes in manage. Sure somethings may be easier like running a script on all units or updating firmware. But day to day tasks just seem like more work. Or does it just take practice

This is FMG, it is better to have it only if you have many FortiGates to manage.

Yup this is correct.  FortiManager is a backup/push/verify type model when making config changes, they aren't instantaneous like making changes locally.  But it makes rollback and policy/object sync so much easier and more scalable when managing multiple FortiGates.
