hello, everyone..
I know FortiOS depends on FortiASIC h/w to improve network performance...
but sometimes we may encounter the situation which traffic can not be offloaded...
or FGT box applied is just a pure x86 box without any FortiASIC desgin.
Qualcomm SFE has been currently implemented by OpenWRT(LEDE)...
it definitely improves overall network performance and it's better than standard netfilter traffic forwarding path!...
other brands like UBNT are working on this feature design...
here my questions:
1. without any FortiASIC enabled or just a pure x86 box, FortiOS uses owned software-based network stack or linux netfilter?
2. if FortiOS uses owned software-based packet processing path, it's better than SFE???
3. if SFE definitely is better, it's possible to implement this feature?....
