I need help from a FortiCLient MSI programmer...

I am having an strange issue trying to install anyversion of forticlient. It gets to driver installation and then rolls back. I am installing it on a computer who has had its registry ' modified' (read tinkered with). I had to edit some network related entried in the HKLM/system/CurrentControlSet/Control/ and ENUM. I maky have deleted something wrong... Anyway... I did a verbose logging of the MSI installation and came up with the following Logged error.... MSI (s) (6C:80) [02:48:10:593]: Executing op: CustomActionSchedule(Action=InstallHookDriver,ActionType=1025,Source=BinaryData,Target=MSI_installIM, CustomActionData=C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\{C2FAE67B-9C91-4C88-91C6-37E4D5F50FE9}\ fortidrv.inf;ft_fortidrv;C:\Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\ipsec.exe quit) MSI (s) (6C:C4) [02:48:10:609]: Invoking remote custom action. Return value 3. MSI (s) (6C:80) [02:48:11:796]: User policy value ' DisableRollback' is 0 MSI (s) (6C:80) [02:48:11:796]: Machine policy value ' DisableRollback' is 0 I have the full (600+KB) log file if interested. Basically I am asking... AT this point in the MSI installation, What registry/file modification are involved in " Installing fortidrv2" . I am also having an issue where Cisco' s VPN client will not install becuase DNE fails during installation. I think I FUBAR' ed by registry, and I would like to attempt a manual fix. Please advise.

Hi, we had the same issue. Some KNOWN issues are (a) try latest version of Forticlient 2.0.063 (b) make sure NERO is not running or installed I had this issue on 3 Toshiba laptops. Reformatted clean and worked 100% Are yours Toshibs?

by the way, you must NOT have any other vpn software installed at the same time as the forticlient. So dont think about installing the cisco and the forticlient at the same time. Otherwise you will be watching a lot of bluescreens...

I know the issue is caused by having both cisco and forti vpn clients. I got rid of the blue screens and most problems via a manual (read, crazy registry attack). I think I must have deleted a really important key. So if i could figure out what is actually failing at this point, I can get the client to go on with out re-installing windows. I have tried every forticlient version on the ftp. Im not too good at fully disecting the MSI installer steps, so if someone can give me a list of what the MSI does at that point, it would be appreciated.
