Today I encountered an error after upgrading from FortiClient EMS Beta2 build0009 to FortiClient EMS v1.0.0 GA build0018. I performed the upgrade simply by installing the EMS with the exe package.
The installation happened fine, but after entering the console, I received these mysterious "Cannot connect to server" errors every 10secs.
On further investigation, it looks like the FCEMS_Server process is constantly restarting, thereby creating these errors on the EMS console. And digging deeper into the Windows Application Error logs, it pinpointed the problem to the MSVCR120.dll module. Regardless, the errors happened because FortiClient EMS Beta2->FortiClient EMS v1.0.0 is an unsupported upgrade path. Hence, it is necessary to uninstall Beta2 first before doing a clean install of FortiClient EMS GA. After I did that, the error did not appear again. Hope this is helpful!
