Bug Report: FortiClient Console window disappears when many certificates are present
I would like to report a bug I have encountered with FortiClient. Here are the details:
- When I open the FortiClient Console, the window appears but often disappears within a few seconds.
- If I create a VPN connection named 0000 with the Client Certificate set to None, the FortiClient Console remains open and does not disappear.
- However, if I create a VPN connection with the Client Certificate set to any value other than None and select it from the dropdown list in the FortiClient Console, the console often disappears within a few seconds.
Additionally, I have checked the Windows Event Viewer, but there were no logs at the relevant times in either the Windows Logs\Application or System sections. I also set the Log Level to Debug in the FortiClient Console and exported the logs after reproducing the issue, but there were no logs at the relevant times.
Furthermore, I found that deleting certificates issued by DO_NOT_TRUST_FiddlerRoot in the certmgr.msc (Certificates - Current User > Personal > Certificates ) can decrease the likelihood of the crash. When I removed all such certificates (resulting 15 certificates in the dropdown list), the crashes have stopped occurring.
Versions:
- FortiClient VPN 7.2.4.0972
- Windows 10 Enterprise 22H2
