Description


This article describes how to transfer a FortiGate in one FortiGate Cloud account A to another FortiGate Cloud account B when account B already exists in FortiGate Cloud.

 

Scope

 

FortiGate.

Solution

 

  • Log in to the FortiGate Cloud portal with email A.
  •  Navigate to FortiGate and select the 'gear Wheel' logo.

 
  • Select 'Authorize Account' and enter new email B.
 
 
  • Login to the FortiGate GUI and log out of account A.
 
 
  • Activate the FortiGate Cloud account with email B. If email B is not the same as the account where FortiGate is registered, use CLI command to activate Fortigate Cloud.

 

execute fortiguard-log login <destination account email> <password>

  • Historical date will be preserved.
  • If 'Authorise New Account' is not set, or it is set but user tries to login with account other than B, the unit will be RMAed under account A, no historical data will be presented under the new account.
  • If 'Authorise New Account' is set, but the user undeploy the unit prior to logging in with B, historical data will be erased completely.

 

In the recent version that was released, use the option 'Migrate existing Data'. It will ask for the Account ID where to transfer it.

After mentioning the Account ID, press okay, then go to the GUI of the FortiGate and reactivate the FortiGate Cloud on the FortiGuard page.
