Description | This article describes how to check which power supply is connected to the FortiGate-100F series. |
Scope | FortiGate-100F series is specifically and for others, and is also applicable. |
Solution |
Some of the FortiGates come with two power supplies for redundancy. FortiGate-100F series is one of them; the device has two power supplies that can be connected to different power sources to guarantee that the firewall stays online in case it fails.
Solution: Use the command 'diagnose hardware deviceinfo psu' to check if both power supplies are connected.
As shown, only the PSU2 is connected at the moment. If checking the FortiGate rear, this confirms the output above.
Another useful command is 'execute sensor list', which will also show the PSU and alarm information along with temperatures. This command works for all units, only the units with one PSU. It only displays the temperature and FANs information.
Additionally, there is another command, 'execute sensor detail', that provides further information on the PSU. Because the FortiGate-100F lacks an IPMI Sensor, the 'Sensor Information' widget is not available in the web GUI.
Note: In the case of Multivdom, run these commands in a Global context.
FortiGate models, including the 200 series and below, do not have an IPMI Sensor, and therefore, the Sensor Information widget is not available in the web GUI.
