Description | This article describes how to isolate the power supply or power adaptor issues before proceed to return merchandise authorization (RMA). |
Scope | FortiGate. |
Solution |
The following are commands to check the power supply status:
execute sensor detail execute sensor list
Power Supply 1:
43 PS1 VIN alarm=0 value=218 threshold_status=0
Power Supply 2:
Working power supply 1(PS1) and non working power supply 2(PS2) have the same input voltage(VIN) value, but the VOUT of PS2 has a negative value compared to the VOUT of PS1 which means FortiGate power supply failure.
Power Supply 1:
43 PS1 VIN alarm=0 value=218 threshold_status=0
Power Supply 2:
Working power supply 1(PS1) has a value of 218 but non-working power supply 2(PS2) has zero value. This result is mostly caused by external factors such as power source failure or power cable failure because power is not detected in FortiGate.
It is possible to change the power cable and power source to isolate the issue.
