FortiAnalyzer can receive logs and Windows host events directly from endpoints connected to EMS, and you can use FortiAnalyzer to analyze the logs and run reports.

Description This article describes the procedure to check fan issues in FortiAnalyzer.
Scope FortiAnalyzer.
Solution

Check the output of the following commands:

 

exec sensor list

exec sensor details

 

See the following example output:

 

Sensor ID              : FAN5 (0x45)

 Entity ID             : 29.5

 Sensor Type (Threshold)  : Fan

 Sensor Reading        : 0 (+/- 0) RPM               <----- Value 0 shows a problem.

 Status                : Lower Non-Recoverable

 Lower Non-Recoverable : 300.000

 Lower Critical        : 500.000

 Lower Non-Critical    : 700.000

 Upper Non-Critical    : 25300.000

 Upper Critical        : 25400.000

 Upper Non-Recoverable : 25500.000

 Positive Hysteresis   : 100.000

 Negative Hysteresis   : 100.000

 Assertion Events      : lcr- lnr-

 Assertions Enabled    : lcr- lnr- ucr+ unr+

 Deassertions Enabled  : lcr- lnr- ucr+ unr+

(status should be OK)

 

NR (non-recoverable) status indicates temperature or power level change that may not be allowed, depending on the specifications of the device.

 

Open a FortiAnalyzer Ticket with Tech Support if an RMA is required.
