Description | This article describes how to resolve an issue where application filters are not visible in the GUI. |
Scope | FortiGate v7.6.0. |
Solution |
In some cases, after upgrading to v7.6.0, the option for the application filter does not appear in the GUI. Despite this, all of the Application filters will be available, and these filters and profiles can be seen in the CLI:
However, it will not show in the security profiles or the policies in the GUI, even when it is enabled under Feature Visibility.
This is because the Application control profile is missing on the GUI for FortiGate models with 2GB memory (which particularly impacts lower-end devices such as 40F and 30E). The admin can either configure this by using the GUI inline edit option on the policy list if the profile is already configured for the policy, or by editing the policy in the CLI. 'Right-click the relevant policy and select 'Edit in CLI'.
The command to add this would be:
set application-list <profile>
The Application Control profile is now seen in the GUI.
This issue will be resolved in v7.6.1, the workaround will no longer be required. |
