Description | This article describes how to solve an issue where, in some cases, Windows systems think the FortiGate is a new network each time it reboots. In these cases, the issue is that the software switch is getting a different MAC address with each reboot. |
Scope | All FortiWiFi firmware versions. |
Solution |
If PCs are disconnecting after a reboot while using FortiWiFi, see the following: Check if the software switch is configured and if it has a wired and wireless network in one software switch.
Create separate software switches for the wired and wireless networks. Alternatively, provide the static MAC address to the software switch.
See this article for more information.
After, check the MAC address of the software switch:
fnsysctl ifconfig SoftwareSwitchName
This will provide information about the MAC address.
Reboot the firewall. Once it is up again, check the same command or check the MAC address in the GUI. The MAC address should be the same as before the reboot.
Contact TAC for additional support if issues still occur. |
