Description This article describes how to resolve the issue where FortiClient 7.2 managed by FortiEMS causes Chrome to prompt users to save passwords, even when Privilege Access Management (PAM) is disabled or is not configured to manage this setting.

Solution

The error in Google Chrome:

To solve the issue, log in to the Fortinet Endpoint Management System (EMS).

Go to the System Settings Profile under the Endpoint Profiles section.

Look for the <pam> XML tag and specifically for <remove_web_extension_when_disabled>.

Change the value for <remove_web_extension_when_disabled> from '0' to '1'.

Save the changes and deploy the new settings profile to the relevant endpoints.

Confirm if the issue has been resolved by testing it on one of the affected desktops.
