Description | This article describes an issue where the SSL VPN Web Portal becomes inaccessible on entry-level FortiGate models with 2GB memory after upgrading to FortiOS 7.4.8. The error 'Access denied' is observed. |
Scope | FortiGate, SSL VPN Web Mode. |
Solution |
After upgrading an entry-level FortiSOC4 (F-series desktop units) equipped FortiGate with 2GB memory to FortiOS 7.4.8, users may find that the SSL-VPN web portal fails to load correctly.
When accessing the web mode URL, the error message 'Access denied' is displayed.
When 'OK' is selected, much of the page content is broken or missing. When the SSL VPN debug is run:
diagnose debug console timestamp enable
The resulting debug output prints errors such as 'check path failed' or 'No access: check path failed':
2025-06-05 11:17:43 [17810:root:4]fsv_check_path_passed:997 No access: check path failed /migadmin/rmt_index.html, /data/migadmin, /migadmin
This is a reported issue that will be fixed in FortiOS 7.4.9. As a workaround, the FortiGate can be downgraded to 7.4.7 if the service must be recovered. There is no possible recovery on FortiOS 7.4.8.
