Description

This article describes how to collect FortiVoice trace call logs and the procedure to be followed for troubleshooting purposes.

Scope FortiVoice.
Solution
  • Activate debug trace log capture by CLI:

 

diagnose debug application voiced trace-log enable

 

  • Make the corresponding VoIP calls where the issue occurs. It is important that the call is complete or the issue is shown in order to be recorded.
  • Disable trace log capture by CLI:

 

diagnose debug application voiced trace-log disable

  • Download the trace log captured under System -> Maintenance -> Configuration -> Trace Log.

Follow the steps below to obtain the trace log file correctly captured:

 

  • Select the 'Prepare' button and wait for 30 seconds to give time to collect all log information captured.

  • After 30 seconds, select 'Refresh'.

  • Select 'Download trace log...'  and a file like 'trace_FOV-XXXXX.log' should be obtained.

Send the logs to Fortinet TAC Support to be analyzed.

 

Note:

Capturing trace logs did not cause any service interruption. Trace logs help with VoIP call troubleshooting and further investigate the issue.
