This article describes that depending on the distribution of Linux and the brand of GUI desktop manager in use, the Persistent Agent icon does not always display in the systray.
Scope
Any Linux OS using GUI based desktop and Persistent Agent installation.
Solution
It is not guaranted or supported that the Persistent Agent icon appears in Linux due to the number of different distributions and desktop managers available.
Here is what development has that are known to show the icon and what will not show it at all:
- XFCE or anything with legacy system tray support.
- It's explicitly disabled in code for KDE 5+ and unity.
