Description This article describes the behavior when all ports are changed to 'learned uplink' in FortiNAC under the ports view for FortiGate and FortiSwitch in link mode after resynchronizing interfaces.
Scope CentOS, FortiOS.
Solution

From the GUI:

  1. Go to Network -> Inventory -> select the top-level container -> The Devices tab -> Update.
  2. Check for any blank names and either rename or delete them.
  3. Perform a Resync interface by selecting the device and right-clicking on it..

 

For CentOS:

 

  1. Log in to the FortiNAC CLI using the root account.
  2. Enter the command 'device -all' to search for devices with blank names.
  3. Rename or delete the network device as needed.
  4. Perform a Resync interface from the FortiNAC GUI to validate.

 

For FortiOS:

 

  1. Log in to the FortiNAC CLI using the root account.
  2. Enter the command 'execute enter-shell'.
  3. Enter the command 'device -all' to search for devices with blank names.
  4. Rename or delete the network device as needed.
  5. Perform a Resync interface from the FortiNAC GUI to validate.
